This is a 40 hour school that will cover all required subjects by TCOLE. The school will utilize instructors from Denton PD, Denton County SO, and the FBI. In addition to classroom work, the students will engage in multiple active listening exercises. The final day of the class will be scenario day. The class will be broken into negotiation teams and each student will have an opportunity to perform as the primary negotiator. The student will be provided with a copy of training materials for the course.
Learn Active Listening Skills for de-escalation, legalities of wiretapping, legal requirements for negotiation, stress management, demand management, negotiating with specific mental illnesses
Students are required to be full-time peace officers.
