DESCRIPTION

This class is designed for first responders who are seeking to get an FAA Remote Pilot License as part of a department drone program.  It is a 2 day class that consists of going through a test preparation book (purchased by students) and then taking a FAA Part 107 practice test.  Upon completing this class and taking some additional online practice tests, the student will be able to go to a nearby FAA testing center and take the exam, earning a FAA Remote Pilot License.  Students will receive 16 hours TCOLE credit upon completion of the class, but there is no included flight training of any kind.

This course does not include the FAA Remote Pilot License test.  Students will need to register for and pay the fee to take the FAA test after completing this class.  The current fee, as of 1/21/2020, is $100 for the test.
