YOU MUST HAVE SPONSORSHIP BY A TEXAS LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY TO REGISTER.
The Denton Police Training Academy (DPA) will be holding its Basic Police Officer Course at the Denton Public Safety Training Center. The course will run for 19.5 weeks and will meet and exceed the TCOLE requirements for peace officer certification (see DPA's BPOC Rules for Testing and Performance Requirements). The course will be taught by highly qualified instructors from the Denton Police Department and other area agencies. The course will be held at the Denton Public Safety Training Center. The facility offers state of the art classrooms and the following instructional technology:
The facility also offers a break room/lunch area with a sink, coffee maker, refrigerators, microwaves, ice machines, and TVs. A locker-room section, with showers, is also provided inside both of the male and female bathroom areas.
All students must be employed by or have an academy sponsorship by a Texas public safety agency to be eligible to attend the Denton Training Academy.
