This course is an 8 hour course that focuses on the skills necessary to utilize the handgun in a high stress environment in a law enforcement setting. Grip, stance, sights, trigger, and draw will be covered as well as reloading, stoppage clearance, shooting on the move, with flashlight, with one hand only, from retention position, and utilizing cover. Concentration throughout the course will be using the handgun accurately at speed to engage realistically sized targets of 8 inch body hit zones and 3"x5" head hit zones.
This course is designed for intermediate to advanced shooters. Attendees should be routinely qualifying at 80% or better on qualification courses before attempting this course. The Handgun Fundamentals of Accuracy and Speed is a good course for those officers that are not to that level yet..
